Jr. High Youth Ministry
S.U.R.G.E.
(Serving Under a Real God Everyday)
Jr. High youth group and Sunday school is open for all 7th and 8th graders.
We meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 for Sunday school. We study
a wide range of topics, all that are pertinent to growing kids for Christ. We
want to equip young people with Biblical knowledge and understanding of the
Scriptures.
We also meet on Friday evenings for youth group. This is usually centered around an
event or special activity. Weekly flyers are mailed with information about the current
weeks' activities. This proves to be a well attended and enjoyable time for all.
The PURPOSE of our ministry is the GLORY OF GOD.
"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit,
which are God's." (I Corinthians 7:5)
The MODEL of our ministry is JESUS CHRIST.
"That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings,
being made conformable unto His death." (Philippians 3:10)
The MOTIVE of our ministry is to LOVE.
"For the love of Christ constrains...We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading
through us; we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God." (II Corinthians 5:14, 20)
The POWER of our ministry is the HOLY SPIRIT.
"Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord, saying, Not by might,
not by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord." (Zechariah 4:6)
The PRIVILEGE of our ministry is GROWTH.
"So the neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase." (I Corinthians 3:7)
We offer a wide range of activites to participate in.
Annual events include such activities as a week of summer camp at Camp Elim in
Woodland Park, Colorado.
We also attend a weekend winter retreat at Camp Elim every year.
We are privileged to be able to help with the COMPA Thanksgiving Outreach every November.
What a great service project to get involved with.
No summer would be complete without a trip to Water World,
Six Flags Elitch Gardens and a great Christian concert!
We also offer several fundraisers through the year, to help with the cost of summer camp expenses.
We are always "on the go" with the Jr. High youth....Please let us know if you have any questions
